MAG is a MMO shooter for the PS3. The game is scheduled for a late January release.

Release Date

MAG was released North America on January 26, 2010. A European release will follow on January 29. An open beta allows players to try the game before the official release date.

Beta Testing

One of the unique features of MAG was the game's developer's implementing a generous beta policy. Private beta tests gave some players a chance to try MAG in 2009.

On January 4 2010 anybody with a PS3 will be able to join an open beta. The open beta can be downloaded from the Playstation Store. The beta closed shortly thereafter. The release of the game will be the next chance to play the game.

Gameplay

MAG is attempting to live up to its name--MAG stands for Massive Action Game--with humungous multiplayer servers. Online battles support up to 256 players. The game manages the large number of players by breaking teams into 8 player squads.

There are three main types of games: sabotage, acquisition and domination.

Factions

Players can choose to fight as part of one of three private military companies featured in the game.
