MAG Servers Go Boom
Remember the last beta period for MAG before its final release? The game hardly ran like a beta, it was a well-polished thing of beauty. But the servers were a different story. They were overwhelmed and players had a heck of a time connecting.
Zipper was quick to point out that this is what betas are for. They needed to test their server infrastructure. The problem would be fixed for release.
MAG Game Guide doesn't have any bugs in Zipper's offices (yet) but I have a pretty good guess what their tech guys are saying today: "D'oh!"
There are tons of reports of people not being able to get onto servers tonight. The specific problems are taking various forms: some report not being able to connect at all. Others report not being able to download the patch.

How big a deal is this? If it's only a one-day problem, it's just a slight misstep for those of us that already bought the game. Those of us with server woes can wait one more day to play MAG.
For Zipper unfortunately, it could be costly. Release day is the pinnacle of news coverage for a title. These hiccups will divert some of the focus from the game's triumphs to its tribulations.
I saw some of the community posted their tales of woe on the other thread, but anybody else here having trouble connecting tonight?
The servers went down for a bit, seeming to stem from cap space, and users on the server. Last night spawn issues and party issues occured, and even today, we seem to be running into small problems of this. I know right now I just had an issue spawning in. We will see if this gets fixed soon.
None whatsoever. I played all night.
