MAG's official release is less than a month away but there's no reason to wait that long to start playing. On January 4th, the game's makers will launch a free beta version of the game available to anybody with a PS3.

Even though the beta doesn't unlock for a few more days, you can download the game now so you won't have to wait to play on the 4th. Here's how:

1. Log into the Playstation Store
2. Choose "View By All Titles" -> "M" -> "MAG" -> Choose the MAG demo
3. Go to the Demos in your Games section and launch the MAG Beta program. It will download a patch and restart MAG.
4. After the reboot, the beta will reconnect and download the actual game.

And you'll be ready to play.

I hope more companies follow

I hope more companies follow this example. Give the public a chance to play the full game for free and beta test the heck out of the title before the game is actually released.

I'm downloading the game now and am mildly optimistic about what I'll find.
